United States Senator, Maria Cantwell tests positive to Coronavirus

A staffer working in the office of a United States senator, Senator Maria Cantwell, has been tested positive for the COVID 19 virus, and has become the first confirmed case of the virus connected to the congress.

Senator Cantwell’s office released a statement that said that the staffer has had no known contact with any member of the congress and has since been under quarantine as soon as she started showing symptoms.

It has been reported that Senator Cantwell plans on closing her office for deep cleaning based on the recommendation of the attending physician. The senator has requested that all employees showing symptoms of the COVID 19 virus and came in contact with the staff member immediately get tested for the virus.

Henceforth, all other employees in senator Cantwell’s office will be working from home. Some other members of congress have closed their offices also to quarantine themselves.

They also asked their employees to work from home. So far, no member of the congress has tested positive for the virus.
