Daimler to cut 10,000 jobs to in a bid to fund switching to Electric Cars

Barely a day after Audi announces plans to cut 9,500 jobs, the owner of Mercedes Benz has announced that at least 10,000 personnel would lose their jobs as the car industry undergoes the biggest transformation in history.

According to Wilfried Porth, the development of Carbon neutral mobility requires a huge investment, and as such has launched a programme to increase competitiveness, innovation and investment strength.

As a result, plans to reduce staff costs by €1.4 billion by the end of 2022 and as such the cost, including reducing management positions globally by 10%.
