Two military bases hosting American Troops in Iraqi. The attack was in retaliation to the demise of Qasem Soleimani who got hit by a U.S drone missile.

New reports according to the CNN reveal that so far so good no casualties were suffered by the U.S troops and U.S President is poised to deliver a statement on the attack today for 5 PM Nigerian Time (  11 a.m. ET ).

President Trump, however, took to his twitter handle earlier today to tweet the following in response to the attack which doesn’t seem as successful in retrospect now

The Iranian Supreme Leader had described the attack as a slap on the face of the United States. There are speculations that since no casualties were recorded there might still be a way to retrace back to avoid further tensions.

The attack on the military base is not the only retaliatory move the Islamic State has employed, they have also definitively withdrawn from the Nuclear deal treaty leaving many world leaders apprehensive on what is to come.
