Theresa May’s emotional but succinct farewell message as Prime Minister was anything but shallow. Theresa May in no few words took us down memory lane on the positive changes she had made as the leader of the conservative party to make Great Britain a more humane place for all.

An intentional leader by all ramifications, upon assumption of office, Theresa May highlighted 7 major challenges she wished to address and upon exit highlighted the progress made. Here are the achievements she made during her tenure as Prime Minister:

Eliminated National Deficit: The UK gerenal Deficit was at the lowest since the March 2002 fiscal year end at £42.9 billion which is equivalent to 2.1% of Gross Domestic Product

UK’s Industrial Strategy: A plan to help businesses create high quality well paid jobs across the country by helping young people develop skills required for the future and thus propel Britain to become a global leadership of the future

Job Security: The unemployment rate in the UK is now at its lowest in over 40 years with female employment rate at 71.4% the highest since 1971 (researchfindings)

Tackling Climate Change: The UK now runs on Wind energy for as much as 35% of Electricity generation, while Solar energy is providing as much as 21%.
Not only did the UK declare a state of emergency on Climate change, even teenage Environmental activist, but Greta Thurnberg also tweeted that other nations need to follow suit.

Building of Homes: A measure undertaken by the government to provide new homes to young people so they can share the same benefits as the older generations.

Postcode Lottery: Theresa May ordered councils to do more to protect domestic victims and their children fleeing abusive relationships. she put a stop to the postcode lottery and mandated that local authorities are bound to offer support to such people and it’s legally binding.

NHS long-term Plan: The Outgoing Prime Minister pledged an additional £20 Billion spread over 5 years. An action taken to address injustice in the Health sector It has been proven that higher health spending is linked to longer life expectancies.

Race Disparity/Gender Pay Inequality Audit: A move to bring more transparency to the social injustice faced by women in the workplace and other races in a bid to challenge the unjust system.

Grenfell Tower Inquiry: A British public inquiry established by Theresa May to establish the facts of what ensued at the Grenfell Tower which cost 72 lives in hopes to prevent a reoccurrence.
