Saraki accuses Buhari’s government of increasing unemployment

The Senate was in rowdy session for over 30 minutes yesterday you wouldn’t believe why, being the result of the Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki preventing the immediate past Minority Leader, Senator Godswill Akpabio (APC, Akwa Ibom North West), from using an unrecognized microphone to speak.

This trouble started when Akpabio stood to speak, but was denied the opportunity by the Senate President on the grounds that he cannot do so using another senator’s microphone.

Senator Akpabio who stood to immediately counter a statement was rebuffed by the Senate president, Bukola Saraki for allegedly sitting on a wrong place without a microphone. This led to near physical assaults among senators of the two major parties— APC and PDP.

At this point, Saraki had to quickly mediate by explaining that Akpabio was prevented from speaking because he wanted to do so from a seat without a microphone and not the one allocated to him by the Clerk of the Senate, Nelson Ayewoh.
