The supplementary elections for some constituencies in Rivers state is billed to hold on Saturday, April 13, 2019.
The Independent National Electoral Commission issued this in a statement by Mr. Festus Okoye, the chairman, Information and voter committee.
He said the commission was satisfied after reviewing the conduct of the Rivers state elections, commending security agents for their professionalism in ensuring the polls were peaceful.
Mr Festus also gave accolades to other political parties and the entire electorates and observers for their support and orderly conduct during the exercise.
He however, mentioned some constituencies where the supplementary elections are to be conducted.
“However, supplementary elections will be held in some areas on Saturday, April 13, 2019, in line with the timetable released by the commission. The constituencies are Gokana, Opobo/Nkoro, Ahoada West and Abua/Odual.”
He ended by pointing out that the commission was looking into the allegations of the misconduct during the Senatorial district elections in the state and would release a report by April 10, 2019.
