Nigerians have hailed Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State for publicly declaring his assets.
The governor had in a statement by his spokesman, Taiwo Adisa, late Monday made public his assets which include landed property (developed and undeveloped), household items, shares, and cash worth N48 billion.
Nigerians on Twitter have hailed Makinde, calling on other politicians including President Muhammadu Buhari to emulate him.
In simple terms; call me a thief if my monies and properties increases beyond my known salary. That’s how it should be.

Seyi Makinde just took a huge step in cementing his legacy as a governor in Nigeria. To comfortably declare you are worth almost $140mn shows you have nothing to hide. Hopefully he keeps to this mantra and shows this in his governance.
