The Lagos City Marathon has ended in style with more twenty thousand participants running for different reasons and causes.
For the male category, it was a victory for the Ethiopian runner, Suntayahu Legese who ran and won in the time of 02:17:28hrs with Kenyans Joshua Kipkorir and William Yegon placing second and third respectively.
The IAAF-sanctioned event also saw winners in the female category as another Ethiopian, Dinke Meseret emerged champion with a time of 02:48:02hrs, it was her first appearance at the Lagos City Marathon.
Ethiopians Alemnesh Herepa and Kebena Chala were second and third respectively to ensure a clean sweep for the East Africans.
For the Nigerian runners, it was Gideon Goyet who crossed the finish line first to emerge
