Emeka Ihedioha sworn in as Imo state governor (Photos)

RT Honourable Emeka Ihedioha has been sworn in as the Governor of Imo State.

Ihedioha was sworn in at the Dan Anyiam Stadium in Owerri, by the Chief Judge of the state, Paschal Nnadi, after his Deputy Gerald Irona, took his oath of office and allegiance, making him the sixth executive Governor of the state.

Immediate-former governor of the state, Rochas Okorocha was absent in the inauguration, however, his estranged deputy, Eze Madumere, present to witness the ceremony.

In his Inaugural speech to imolites, the governor explained that he is inheriting a state with institutional decay, stating that he has designed a template to guide him rebuild the State positively to enable all persons of Imo State extraction benefit and have a new lease of life.

He said he will implement the blueprint contained in the report of the Technical Committee.

The Governor also vowed to overhaul social institutions in the State: health, education, power, as well as create employment, pay pensions and salaries and create an enabling environment for economic opportunities targeted at making life bearable for the people.

Ihedioha did not spare his predecessor, Rochas Okorocha, accusing him of impoverishing the people via greed, kleptomania tendencies, hatred, wickedness, and incompetence.

He thanked God for his Grace in making him Governor to liberate the people from bad rulership and appreciated the people for democratically electing the PDP into office to superintend the affairs of the State.
