Do your Job and stop waiting on prayers – Cleric to Buhari

In response to President Buhari’s Easter message to Nigerians, Dele Agbogun, Pastor and Family life coach asked the president not to rely on prayers alone, but to carry out the obligations his office requires.

Speaking on Plus TV Africa’s News on the Hour on Friday, Pastor Agbogun said:

“I’ll say prayers is actually very good but I thing we’ve gotten to a point where we need to go beyond just prayers.”

“Prayer will not just go out there and get solutions on our Table.”

“I believe more on reorientation and if you’re in a position of authority, then whatever your responsibilities are, you go out here and ensure you carry them out”

When asked if he thinks the President should ask the citizens to pray, Pastor Agbogun said everyone has a responsibility to pray, but it takes much more than that.

However, he sent a message to the leaders to take on their responsibility, specifically the President, governor, and local government chairman to do their job and not be slack by just waiting on prayers.

“If each person is committed to his or her role, then there would be more change than prayers because there are things that prayers can’t offer you, it takes you acting to bring it to pass”
