China will host the Asian Cup in 2023 after a confirmatory vote at an AFC Extraordinary Congress in Paris.
South Korea was the only other nation in the running for the tournament but withdrew.
China will use the competition as a launch pad to attempt to host the World Cup in either 2030 or 2034.

AFC President Sheikh Salman bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa said he was delighted China would host the Asian Cup, adding he believed it would almost certainly bid for an expanded Club World Cup in 2021, which could involve 24 teams.
