17-year-old German teenage rider Jan Riedmann, a member of Bora-Hansgrohe’s feeder squad has been confirmed dead. He died from head injuries sustained in a collision with a car during training.
It was reported that Riedmann was riding with team-mates from Team Auto Eder Bayern, an under-19 team who provide prospects to Bora-Hansgrohe in Germany.
Bora-Hansgrohe said the entire team is in shock about the tragic accident. Christian Schrot, the sporting director of Team Auto Eder Bayern said they will wear commemorative ribbons at Saturday’s Milan-San Remo, to honour the youngster.
