Cross River State Governor, Professor Ben Ayade, says the reason why Nigerian youth protesters codenamed “EndSARS” is taking place across the country was as a result of the problems of unemployment, poverty, and decay in governance which leaders at every level must take seriously to address.

Ayade, while speaking on the sidelines of his projects inspection in Calabar, said any country which undermines the strength of the young people by making them idle is sitting on a keg of gun powder.

The Governor, while pleading with the youths to give their leaders the opportunity to attend to the demands already approved by the Federal Government, explained that he expanded the government to all the communities in Cross River State to give everyone a sense of belonging.

He promised that his various industries when completed will take out over 10, 000 unemployed youths off the streets.

Youths across the country including those in Calabar have been on the streets in the last 12 days, asking the government to stop police brutality and bad governance in Nigeria.
