Osun State Government has called on the Federal Government to assist the state in the containment of the spread of Coronavirus.
This follows the nine new confirmed cases in the state.
The state is now number three in the chart among the states with highest number of cases.
Apart from the first case who is a returnee from the United Kingdom, the other 13 cases were among the 127 people who came to the state through the border of Ogun State and Benin Republic.
The Commissioner for Health noted that these returnees were kept in an isolation centre in Ejigbo to avoid trans city transfer.
Out of the 71 test so far conducted, 13 returned positive while they await the result of the remaining 56 people.
The Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Imail Omipidan, said that the state still has the capacity to take care of the confirmed case for now but should the number increase, it might be beyond the capacity of the state.
