The Civil Aviation Administration of China, CAAC, has yet to lift the existing sanction on the 737 Max due to safety concerns.

China was one of the first nations to ban the 737 Max after two separate plane crashes that took the lives of 346 passengers leaving no survivors and was actually the largest market for the 737.

The CAAC also maintained that the investigations into the crashes in Indonesia and Ethiopia have to be clarified and the new design approved.

After thorough investigation, it was found that a buggy software – MCAS was responsible for the crashes and several updates have been made such as additions of dual sensors and computers to function as failovers or as a redundancy.
