Bayelsa State Governor, Douye Diri, has extended by two weeks, the dusk to dawn curfew imposed in the state.

The extension is necessitated by the fall out of the meeting by the Governors’ Forum for a nationwide lockdown to contain the spread of COVID-19 across the country.

A statement issued by members of the Bayelsa State Task Force On COVID-19 noted that movements will be restricted for 12 hours from 7 pm each day.

The Bayelsa State Government had on Sunday, April 19, imposed a 5-day curfew as part of measures to further reinforce the ban on social gatherings and nocturnal worship activities to enhance social distancing.

Security personnel across the state have been placed on high alert to ensure compliance.
