The former Niger Delta Development Commission MD has finally had her day with the House of Representatives albeit virtually. In her confessions, Nunieh revealed several bombshells.
She first clarifies that a total of 8 billion in Nigerian Naira was spent during her administration and that she never collected a penny in bribe from contractors or the likes. She stresses on multiple occasion that she had no political ambition during her tenure at the leadership of the NDDC and was not driven by personal gain.
During her testimony, Nunieh testifies that several contracts were awarded to unregistered companies and also that several files have gone awash since the verification exercise began.
Nunieh also stressed like during her exclusive interview with Arise News, a couple of days away that Godswill Akpabio proposed that he mandated her to swear an oath before he could work with her, a crime which Nunieh stresses is tantamount to life imprisonment for Akpabio if she underwent the oath but is now equivalent to seven years in prison.
Joi Nunieh took the opportunity to request that the Nigerian Police Force investigate the matter diligently and see that Akpabio is brought to book.
The public hearing on the misappropriation of funds at the NDDC has been brought forward since the President, Muhammadu Buhari in a Press Statement requested the in-depth investigation into the matter involving the NDDC circulating social media for the past few weeks
